Happy Holidays!

Happy holidays, dear readers! I know I’m a little late for Christmas, but I hope your celebrations were full of great food and good company. If you don’t celebrate Christmas, I hope you’re still relaxing at home, enjoying a good book and a warm/alcoholic drink.

While 2016 will probably go down in history as a really crappy year, it was a good one for me and my family. We got our second son and he’s a great little guy. Kiddo is also healthy and smart, so we have a lot to be grateful for.

We celebrated with both sides of the family already, so I’m looking forward to having a quiet celebration of New Year with just the four of us at home. It’ll be our first year as a four-member family, and though the little ones will probably go to bed like it’s any other ordinary day, we’ll be watching the fireworks and eating a good dinner. We also have a tentative date with The Return of the King, since we’re in the middle of a LOTR re-watch.

Hugs for all and I wish you a calm last week of 2016. How will you be celebrating on New Year’s Eve?

  • Greg Hill

Merry Christmas!! I survived the family Christmas party (lol) so all is good! :) Have a wonderful New Year too, a Return of the King watch sounds like a great way to spend it.

    • Congrats on surviving the family gathering, those can be intense. I hope your celebration will be fun & relaxed! :)

  • Happy Holidays! Hope you and your family are doing well :)

    • Thanks! I wish you all the best in the new year!

  • Merry Christmas! I hope you and your family had a great day and enjoy your New Year’s plans. I, unfortunately, have to go back to work between Christmas and New Year which I am not looking forward to but I do have plans to stay in on New Years Eve because I hate huge crowds. I hope you enjoy your LOTR rewatch, I saw the first one on TV again a week or so ago and they’ve not put the other two on yet (disgrace, I know) I’ve also been rewatching The Hobbit on TV and loving it. I love those films so much. I will probably be rewatching the Star Wars films because I got the two trilogies on blu-ray for Christmas. Basically, I will probably have a geeky New Year’s in and I am totally okay with that because it’s about what I do every year.

    • Geeky New Year’s is the best. I don’t remember the last time we went out – is that bad? I hate drunken crowds, too, plus it’s cold. Why would anyone want that?

Have fun with your rewatch, it’s always good to return to old favourites.

  • It’s never too late for Christmas! I’m glad to hear the kids are doing well and you got to relax(?) and spend time with family. And YES to the LotR re-watch!

I actually haven’t thought about New Year’s Eve yet. I guess it depends on whether my family’s back from Florida although, either way, I’ll hopefully go to bed early. :)

    • Eh, relaxing is overrated. :D nah, we’re doing okay, my husband’s off work this week so it’s nice to have some family time.

I’m thinking of going to bed early, too, it’s such an old person thing to say but I love/need sleep! :) Enjoy your celebration!
